Legendary Janos

Janos was a great journalist and a heck of a friend. He was not born into great wealth and he never let that stop him from reaching for the stars. He shared that same can-do joie di vivre with all who knew him. Read his bio on his blog and see how impressive his world travels are. He never let anything get in the way of his dreams. On a work trip to England in my late 20s, Janos invited me over to his house where he and his partner Calum were hosting a pancake party for Shrove Tuesday. He was the host with the most. We had cinnamon and Nutella crepes and citrus tea. We laughed through the night and his stories were genuine and full of adventure. On one of his trips through Texas, I got to take him to Bay Area Church to see a lively American church and meet the pastors there too. He loved the experience. We served him fried chicken and waffles and he made fun of how large my washing machine was! When Janos visited a place, he wanted to fully experience it. Later when I took some time off to be a stay-at-home mom for our kids, it was Janos who invited me to join Reuters Petchem Update, and later Agri Briefing. Agri Briefing was supposed to be temporary while he got well, but now I am faced with calling on 'our' customers to share the terrible news. Janos has taken his final trip. He called me often with ideas for sites and new media he wanted us to start together. He was so full of ideas and light. There was nothing he didn't think I could do and there was nothing I didn't think he could do. He was my European brother, a friend for all times. Until we meet again, it was a great honor knowing you.
